DELIFE Standard Leathers
・Japanese vegetable-tanned cowhide
Italian vegetable-tanned cowhide from 'Tempesti'
・Italian 'Lo Stivale' vegetable-tanned cowhide
What is 'Tempesti'?

Founded in 1946, 'Tempesti' is a prestigious tannery located in the Santa Croce district of Italy, producing leather finished with a wax coating that gives it a whitish appearance on the surface.

The waxed surface looks white as if covered in mist, but with use, it softens and reveals the leather's natural color and character.

The wax coating makes the leather resistant to dirt and allows the aging process to progress slowly.

Used for wallets, bags, and more.

What is 'Lo Stivale'?

Founded in 1958, 'Lo Stivale' is a prestigious tannery in the Santa Croce district of Italy, producing leather known for its elegant and deep color tones. It offers a relaxed aging process.

Used for belts, handles, and more.

What is Japanese vegetable-tanned cowhide?

We use domestically produced vegetable-tanned cowhide from Himeji City, Hyogo Prefecture, Japan's largest leather-producing region.

Among these, the soft and supple leather is rare due to the labor-intensive process. The surface is treated with a dirt-resistant finish, allowing you to use it without excessive worry.

Used for drawstring bags, multistrap & pouch, and more.

What does DELIFE mean by "quality"?
DELIFE's material selection is very simple: whether it is "high quality and environmentally friendly." "Quality" means vegetable-tanned leather that ages (changes over time).
This material is said to make up about 10% of the leather produced worldwide and is tanned using plant saps, making it environmentally friendly and commonly called eco-leather. On the other hand, 90% of chrome leather is made with chemicals, causing marine pollution from wastewater, which is a social issue. Therefore, to achieve a sustainable society, we actively use eco-leather that is environmentally friendly and ages beautifully.
Eco-leather is leather carefully tanned with plant tannins over time, minimizing processing that hides scratches and wrinkles to preserve the leather's natural texture.High-quality leather is not necessarily uniform and flawless. Therefore, wrinkles and marks are used, giving each product its own unique character and increasing its charm.Over time, it undergoes aging changes, gaining color and luster, adapting to your skin, and transforming into a texture unique to you, showing a rich expression.
