Aging

"Aging"

This page introduces leather aging (changes over time).

The full vegetable-tanned leather used at DELIFE increases in color and gloss the more you use it, allowing you to develop leather products unique to yourself.

For details such as the origin of DELIFE's standard leather, see the article here

Please take a look at how the colors you are considering will change.

One year of MAINE aging sample after use.

natural increases in color and gloss, changing to an amber color.

The classic natural leather loved by leather enthusiasts (also called Nume leather)

is a color that especially allows you to enjoy the aging process and the pleasure of nurturing it.

brown increases in color and gloss, changing to a slightly reddish brown.

Because it is a dark color pigment, it is recommended for those who do not want to worry about dirt but want to use a "leather-like color".

gray changes to an olive color.

It has a very unique atmosphere and is a rare aging color for leather.

Because this leather color is rarely seen both before and after aging, it is especially recommended for those who do not want to have the same as others.

black increases in gloss and changes to a deep black color.

Like brown, black is especially easy to use because you do not need to worry about dirt.

Six months of SIBILLA Liscio aging sample after use.

'SIBILLA Liscio' treated with wax coating on the surface

Leather finished with wax sprayed on the surface to give a whitish appearance.

The waxed leather surface looks white as if covered with mist, but as you use it, it blends in and shows the leather's original color and expression.

Because of the waxing, the leather is less likely to get dirty and the aging changes slowly.

Of course, the way aging occurs varies depending on individual usage, but full vegetable-tanned leather increases in gloss and changes to a deep color the more you use it.

Leather products you nurture yourself become especially dear to you.

Please be sure to develop your own unique leather products.
