Why pig leather??
Naughty uses washable pig suede leather tanned in Sumida, Tokyo.
Although surprisingly little known, pig leather is the only leather produced entirely in Japan, from domestic consumption through tanning.
Some leather enthusiasts may be thinking, “Hmm, what does that mean...? There is Japanesemade leather, right...?”
In fact, cowhide mainly uses raw hides from North America, which are imported and tanned domestically.
Moreover, pig leather is a truly Made in Japan leather material recognized worldwide, with every step from pork consumption to leather production completed domestically.
Pig leather has larger pores and better breathability than cowhide, and its short drying time after washing makes it a suitable leather material for caps.
This pig leather was chrome-tanned by a tannery in Sumida, Tokyo, making it more water-resistant.
The lining is made of mesh fabric, so it can be worn in spring and summer as well.
Although it is leather, it is also breathable.
The size can also be adjusted.
The design is modeled after a cycling cap and features a short brim.
It has a unisex look that can be worn by both men and women.
Will it develop a patina??
With repeated washing, the color gradually becomes lighter, allowing you to enjoy its aging.
The new darkgray is on the left; the darkgray washed five times over six months is on the right.
It has become just slightly lighter.
