・Japanese vegetable-tanned cowhide
Italian vegetable-tanned cowhide from 'Tempesti'
・Italian 'Lo Stivale' vegetable-tanned cowhide
What is 'Tempesti'?

Founded in 1946, the prestigious Italian tannery 'Tempesti' located in the Santa Croce district producesleather finished with a wax coating on the surface to give it a whitish appearance.

The waxed surface looks white as if covered in mist, but with use, it softens and reveals the leather’s original color and character.

The wax coating makes the leather resistant to dirt and the aging process progresses slowly.

Used for wallets, bags, and more.

What is 'Lo Stivale'?

Founded in 1958, the renowned Italian tannery 'Lo Stivale' in the Santa Croce district produces leather characterized by an elegant and deep color tone. It offers a relaxed aging process to enjoy.

Used for belts, handles, and more.

What is Japanese vegetable-tanned cowhide?

We use domestically produced vegetable-tanned cowhide from Himeji City, Hyogo Prefecture, Japan’s largest leather production area.

Among these, the soft and supple leather is rare due to the labor-intensive process. The surface is treated with a dirt-resistant finish, allowing you to use it without excessive worry.

Used for drawstring bags, multi-strap pouches, and more.

What does DELIFE mean by "high quality"?
DELIFE’s material selection is very simple: whether it is "high quality and environmentally friendly." "High quality" means vegetable-tanned leather that ages (changes over time).
This material is said to account for about 10% of leather produced worldwide and is tanned using plant sap, making it environmentally friendly and commonly called eco-leather. On the other hand, 90% of chrome leather is made using chemicals, causing marine pollution from wastewater, which is a social problem. Therefore, to realize a sustainable society, we actively use eco-leather that is environmentally friendly and ages beautifully.
Eco-leather is leather carefully tanned with plant tannins over time, minimizing processing that hides scratches and wrinkles to preserve the leather’s natural texture.High-quality leather is not necessarily uniform and flawless. Therefore, wrinkles and marks are used as they are, giving each product its own unique character and increasing attachment.Over time, it undergoes aging, gaining color and luster, adapting to your skin, and changing into a texture unique to you, showing a rich expression.
