・Italian “Lo Stivale” vegetable-tanned cowhide
What is “Tempesti”?

This leather is manufactured by the prestigious tannery “Tempesti,” founded in 1946 and located in Italy's Santa Croce district. Wax is sprayed onto the surface, giving the leather a whitish finish.

The surface of waxed leather is white, as if covered in mist, but with use it softens and reveals the leather's original color and character.

The wax makes the leather less susceptible to dirt, while its aging changes gradually over time.

It is used for wallets, bags, and other items.

What is “Lo Stivale”?

This leather is manufactured by the prestigious tannery “Lo Stivale,” founded in 1958 and located in Italy's Santa Croce district. It is characterized by its elegant, rich colors and allows you to enjoy a relaxed aging process.

It is used for belts, handles, and other items.

What is Japanese vegetable-tanned cowhide?

We use domestically produced vegetable-tanned cowhide from Himeji City, Hyogo Prefecture, Japan's largest leather-producing region.

Among these, leather with a soft, supple feel is rare because it requires considerable time and effort to produce. The surface is treated to prevent dirt, so you can use it without excessive concern.

It is used for Drawstringbag, Multistrap&pouch, and other items.

What does “high quality” mean at DELIFE?
DELIFE's material selection is very simple: we look for materials that are “high quality and environmentally considerate.” “High quality” means vegetable-tanned leather that develops a beautiful patina over time.
This material is said to account for one-tenth of all leather produced worldwide. Because it is tanned using plant sap and other natural materials, it is environmentally friendly and is commonly called eco-leather. By contrast, 90% of leather is chrome-tanned using chemicals, and water pollution caused by wastewater has become a social issue. Therefore, to help create a sustainable society, we actively use eco-leather that is environmentally friendly and develops a wonderful patina.
Eco-leather is carefully tanned with plant tannins over time, using minimal processing to conceal scratches and wrinkles so that the leather retains its natural texture.High-quality leather is not necessarily defined by flawless uniformity.Because areas with wrinkles are also used, each product has its own individual character, making it more meaningful and endearing over time.As it changes with age, its color and luster deepen, it becomes supple against your skin, and its texture evolves into something uniquely yours, revealing a rich and expressive character.
